Joining B-Mark’s Family

It all started during a marketing lecture in college. Our professor recommended that we, as undergraduate students, should start setting up our LinkedIn accounts and seek opportunities even before graduating. I have always been open to opportunities, but I never thought of going over LinkedIn. As a driven individual, I took this advice to heart and set up my LinkedIn profile as soon as I got home, adding my experience and skills, etc…

While exploring the platform and looking here and there, I became curious about job searching and seeing how big of a hiring system this is. So I decided to look for jobs matching my skills and found the first job on the list was for an E-commerce Expert/Developer. It was the only job I applied to. The next day, I received a phone call from the hiring company inviting me for an interview. I did the interview, went through the selection process, and a couple of days later, I received the job offer in my email inbox. I accepted the offer and soon found myself working at B-Mark Digital Agency. It has been an incredible journey since then.

During my time at B-Mark Digital Agency, I worked as an E-commerce Expert & Web Developer. My role involved working on various E-commerce projects. I was responsible for creating and maintaining E-commerce websites, troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues during the development process, and analyzing and optimizing websites’ performance. I worked closely with the rest of the team, including designers and marketers, to ensure that projects were delivered on time and to the highest standards.

This was my first time working with a team in-house. Luckily, I managed to apply my freelance experience to adjust to the new working needs. I got along with the group relatively quickly and have been collaborating continuously with my experienced colleagues, always trying to learn from them and making sure I’m getting better day by day, which is very important to me personally; it’s not all about securing a monthly salary while relaxing and doing the same thing every day and not worrying about the future. It’s totally the opposite, and being in such a position only makes me want to learn, grow, and achieve more success. And I honestly think that B-Mark is a great place to learn & improve for the current stage of my career, helping me acquire professional maturity, communication skills, and working experience that I can’t believe I would receive if I continue to only work independently as a freelancer.

Moral of the story: Listen to your marketing professor…Just kidding!
It’s essential always to be prepared because you never know what opportunities may come your way. Take a chance to try things out, especially if you are recently starting (stage 0) where there isn’t much to risk, and no matter how small or simple the things you achieve are, it will always be beneficial to developing your career. It’s never predictable if things will work how you want them to, but as long as you make consistent smart efforts (not necessarily huge, but consistent and smart), you will surely get there. Take advantage of the technologies around you and get out of your comfort zone to discover your potential and explore opportunities; it’s nobody’s role to secure you a good life but yourself. Never underestimate your abilities, and if it doesn’t work out the first time, it doesn’t mean you are out of the game; keep playing until you are happy with what you have accomplished. And remember that FAIL stands for First Attempt In Learning.
